Loch Ness Center calling for all monster hunters
The largest search for the Loch Ness Monster since 1972 is scheduled for August 26 and 27, employing drones with infrared cameras, a hydrophone for detecting underwater sounds and land-based volunteers scanning from safe vantage points.
The event, organised by the Loch Ness Centre in Drumnadrochit and the volunteer group Loch Ness Exploration, aims to inspire a new generation of Loch Ness enthusiasts.
The organisers assure the safety of volunteers will be paramount, with briefings provided each morning on appropriate viewing points. There will also be opportunities for the public to pay for trips on the loch during the search.
The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has intrigued people worldwide for decades and numerous attempts have been made over the years to unravel the mystery surrounding the mythical creature.
The Loch Ness Investigation Bureau, established in the 1960s, was one such effort to discover the existence of a large beast lurking in the waters of Loch Ness.
Now, with advances in technology and the use of drones and hydrophones, this upcoming search represents a significant leap in the quest to uncover the truth behind the elusive creature.
The Loch Ness Centre and Loch Ness Exploration team are hopeful that the latest tools and the dedication of volunteers will shed new light on the age-old enigma, potentially offering exciting insights into one of the world's most captivating mysteries.
